Feuersthaler and Foster win Wisconsin State Titles for Team Velocause!

Masters 4-5.  Connan Foster Wins...

Team Velocause had 3 racers competing in this class. Mike Froh, Connan Foster, and Michael Cudahy. This was Mike Cudahy’s first Criterium race. He usually competes in the WORS mountain bike series.

All three Velocause riders stayed within the Top 10 for the duration of the race. On the final lap Mike Froh, and Connan worked together moving to the front. Out of the last corner Connan sprinted his way to victory with Mike Froh in 2nd. 1-2 for Team Velocause.

Masters 3-4.   Andy Feuersthaler Wins...

This race Velocause brought some of their Tour of America’s Dairyland Championship winning squad. Andy Feuersthaler, McGee Young, Benny Smith, Scotty Mullins, and Tom Felton all lined up. Straight from the start, Andy went to the front leading the race. Tom Felton and Benny Smith joined Andy, and the 3 traded turns leading the field for the first 20 minutes. At the half way point Tom Felton lead out Andy and McGee for the Prime and Velocause went 1-2.  With 3 laps to go, Scotty and Tom shared the lead setting up a Velocause lead out. Benny and Mcgee took it with 2 to go, and Mcgee went all out on the final lap. Andy jumped off of McGee, and onto a Team Extreme rider. Out of the final corner Andy sat on Tyson Beck until 200 meters to go, and launched. No one could match his sprint, and Andy won his 2nd State Championship in his first 2 years of racing.

Masters 1-2-3.  Last lap crash cost’s Velocause...

Chip Pieper, Brian Schwaller, Billy Graef, and Andy Feuersthaler (pulling double duty) all lined up for this race. This was Billy’s first race after being upgraded to a 3 after his amazing performance at TOAD. By this time, the temperature was over 90 degrees, and near 100% humidity. Chip, Billy and Brian were all at the front covering every attack. Brian and Chip even ended up being in a couple short breaks that got brought back by the field. The course with wide flowing sweepers in lieu of corners proved to be too easy for the field, and a break could not get established. On the final lap Andy was bringing Chip and Billy up to Brian (who was already on the front), to get a train started. Right as Andy was coming upon the left, a slower rider pulled off the pack (without looking) clipping Andy’s elbow. Andy, Chip, and Billy were very fortunate to stay up, but the rider that pulled into Andy crashed, and took down others. That crash disrupted the entire outcome of the race, and the Velocause riders ended up finishing with the field...
